August Highlights at the John Brown House: Foundation & Structural Repair
We hired Cornerstone Foundation & Repair out of Raleigh, North Carolina. They were referred to us from our structural engineer, Stonewall. Stonewall had an engineer come out to the property to address some concerns that we had regarding the structure and foundation. The report was 12 pages long! We wanted to have an engineer assess the property before we started moving forward with the other sub-contractors. I’m so glad we did this too!
The crew at Cornerstone officially started on our foundation and structural work as of Monday - August 15th. They will be updating a lot of the rotten/damaged rim beams, pouring more footers/piers, addressing the slope on the first and second floor, and so much more. The crew will be installing LVLs on the first and second level of the property too.
Make sure you are following us on social media to see the progress throughout the week - these guys are ALL killing it. They’ve been hard at work under the house the past two days - I’ll try and capture some of what they are doing on video.
